Barry Goldwater and Excellence in Education Program

Awarded For: $7500/yr for up to two years for students intending to pursue research careers in the fields of science, mathematics or engineering

Majors: Sciences, Math, and Engineering

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Permanent Resident, Sophomore or Junior, intent to pursue research career

Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship

Awarded for: Students with financial need to study or intern abroad

Majors: Any

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen undergraduate students in good academic standing, must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant

Boren Undergraduate Award for International Study (NSEP)

Awarded For:  Up to one year of language-focused study in areas critical to U.S. interests

Awarded For: One academic year of study, research, or teaching abroad to increase international understanding

Awarded For: $30,000 toward graduate school for undergraduate junior level students who plan to go on to careers in public service.

Awarded For: One to two years graduate study in UK to foster ties between UK and American citizens

Mitchell Scholarship 

Awarded For: One academic year of postgraduate study in any discipline offered by institutions of higher learning in Ireland

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen, graduating senior or recent graduate, between the age of 18-30, must have completed bachelor’s degree prior to Mitchell scholarship start date

Rhodes Scholarship

Awarded For: 2 years study at Oxford University for those who offer promise of effective service to the world

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen between 18 and 24, must have completed bachelor’s degree prior to study at Oxford

Awarded For: A fully-funded one-year Master’s Degree at Tsinghua University

Eligibility: Undergraduate, degree seeking students, set to complete their programs before July 2016, 18-29 years of age, and proficient in English

Awarded For: Up to $7000 scholarship for undergraduates studying the environment and related fields OR Native American students studying Native American policy
