It seems that there’s only one year of funding associated with the Churchill Scholarship. What happens if your program of study takes longer than one year?
The Churchill Scholarship is for one year of study at the University of Cambridge for one of two Master’s degrees: the MPhil (Master of Philosophy) or MASt (Master of Advanced Study), both of which take one year to complete. In other words, the scholarship only supports graduate degrees that take one year to complete anyway. In the early 1980s the Foundation decided to support only one-year programs in order to increase the number of Churchill Scholars. The Churchill Scholarship is worth around $60,000, depending on the exchange rate. It covers all University and College fees (currently about $40,000) in addition to a living allowance and a travel allowance.
