By Program Focus
You can utilize these scholarships to help you study or intern abroad, or otherwise have international experiences both during your undergraduate studies and beyond.
- Get a Dam Passport: $175 to receive a first-time adult U.S. passport and passport photos for undergraduates early in their college careers.
- Critical Language Scholarship: Summer immersion language study in languages not commonly taught in the U.S.
- Gilman International Scholarship/Gilman-McCain Scholarship: Up to $5000 towards a study or intern abroad program of the student's choice for students with financial need.
- Fulbright UK Summer Institutes: 3-4 weeks funded study in the summer at a university in the U.K.
- Fulbright U.S. Student Program: 1 year funded graduate study, research, or teaching English abroad.
- Marshall Scholarship: Funding for 1-2 years' graduate study at a choice of UK universities
- Mitchell Scholarship: Funding for 1 year of graduate study at universities in Ireland and Northern Ireland. (Currently on pause.)
- Rhodes Scholarship: Funding for 2-3 years of graduate study at Oxford University in the UK for students with outstanding academic and leadership qualities and/or commitment to others and the common good.
- Schwarzman Scholarship: Funding for 1 year master's degree in Beijing, China with a focus on public policy, economics, business, and international studies.
- Gates Cambridge Scholarship: Funded graduate study in any offered subject at University of Cambridge for students who are committed to improving the lives of others.
- Boren Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to $25,000 for long-term study abroad with focus in language learning in exchange for rotation in U.S. government jobs.
- Boren Graduate Fellowship: Up to $30,000 for long-term study abroad with focus in language learning in exchange for rotation in U.S. government jobs.
If you are interested in public service - meaning that you engage with work that support communities, protect the public, or serve others - you can use these scholarships to get support for your specific interests.
- Truman Scholarship: $30,000 towards a graduate program of the student's choice in the US for students who are planning to have careers in public service
- Udall Scholarship: $7000 for undergraduate academic expenses and tuition for sophomores and juniors who have experience with leadership, public service, and commitment to Native American tribal policy and health care or the environment
These scholarships are specifically geared towards students with interest in STEM or STEM research.
- Goldwater Scholarship: Up to $7500 per year for up to two years for outstanding STEM students who intend to pursue a career in research.
- DAAD Rise Program: Funded summer STEM-focused internship in a German lab or institution.
These scholarships offer support for you to go to specific schools for graduate study at locations around the world. You may apply for these while still in your undergraduate degree, or after you graduate depending on the specific opportunity.
- Churchill Scholarship: 1 year funded graduate study at Churchill College at University of Cambridge.
- Gates Cambridge Scholarship: Funded graduate study in any offered subject at University of Cambridge for students who are committed to improving the lives of others.
- Fulbright U.S. Student Program: 1 year funded graduate study, research, or teaching English abroad.
- Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program: Funding for graduate degree at Stanford University in any discipline.
- Marshall Scholarship: Funding for 1-2 years' graduate study at a choice of UK universities.
