National and Global Scholarships Advising is embarking on a pilot program with the Institute of International Education Passport Project and the OSU Internationalization Grant for students in the College of Agricultural Science and the College of Forestry to get a passport free of charge. The goal of the program is to encourage more students to consider education abroad experiences, and help make it possible for them to do so.
Oregon State University’s National and Global Scholarships Advising office is pleased to announce that five students have been nominated to represent OSU and compete nationally for the 2024 Barry Goldwater Scholarship. Final selection of Goldwater scholarships will be confirmed in spring 2024. Madalyn Gragg, Jose Naranjo Mendez, Grace Pettis, Roberto Ponce Velez, and Zach Kowash, all juniors from Oregon State University representing the colleges of Agricultural Science, Science, Engineering, will be put forth to be evaluated at the national level. Congratulations to all of our hardworking students!
Oregon State University’s National and Global Scholarships Advising office is pleased to announce that 8 students and recent graduates have been named finalists for the 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Student Program by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. This is the most Fulbright student awards the OSU community has ever earned in a single year.
Faith Townsend, an OSU sophomore double majoring in oceanography and environmental science with a certificate in geographic information systems, has been named a 2023 Udall Scholar in the Environment category. Additionally, two OSU students have been recognized by the Udall Foundation with an Honorable Mention in the Environment category: Emma Baughman, a junior in the Honors College studying Environmental Sciences, and Faisal Osman, a junior studying Public Policy with minors in Business and sustainability.
Jazzy Engle, OSU student and Gilman Scholar, traveled to Querétaro, México for three months in summer 2022 with the support of the Gilman Scholarship. Read about Jazzy's full experience (and her advice for other applicants).
