3 From OSU Named 2024 Goldwater Scholars

Oregon State University’s National and Global Scholarships Advising office is pleased to announce that three students from OSU have been named Goldwater Scholars for the 2024 Barry Goldwater Scholarship competition. Madalyn Gragg, Jose Naranjo Mendez, and Roberto Ponce Velez, all juniors, represent the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, and Science. In addition, Madalyn Gragg represents the OSU Honors College. Congratulations to these hardworking researchers and scholars!

Congratulations 2024 OSU Fulbright Students and Alternate!

Oregon State University’s National and Global Scholarships Advising office is pleased to announce that 4 students and recent graduates have been named finalists for the 2023-2024 Fulbright  U.S. Student Program by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, and 1 student has been named an Alternate.

2 OSU Students Recognized by the Udall Foundation for Environmental Leadership and Tribal Public Policy

Roberto Ponce Velez, an OSU junior in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences has been named a 2024 Udall Scholar in the Environment category.  Also a 2024 Goldwater Scholar, Roberto is the first OSU student to receive both national honors.  Additionally, Eliza Porter has been recognized by the Udall Foundation with an Honorable Mention in the Tribal Public Policy category. Eliza is a junior majoring in Environmental Sciences.

National and Global Scholarships Advising at Oregon State University is pleased to announce that 15 OSU students are among the American undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the United States selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study or intern abroad during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Barometer Feature: OSU pilot passport program provides opportunities for Beavers beyond the dam

National and Global Scholarships Advising is embarking on a pilot program with the Institute of International Education Passport Project and the OSU Internationalization Grant for students in the College of Agricultural Science and the College of Forestry to get a passport free of charge. The goal of the program is to encourage more students to consider education abroad experiences, and help make it possible for them to do so.
